HEALTH & WELFARE CONSULTING ACTUARY

 

LOCATION:  Atlanta, Georgia

 

The Atlanta area office of a national actuarial consulting firm has experienced rapid growth in their Mid-Atlantic H&W consulting practice. As a result, they need to add an experienced actuary with a strong health benefits actuarial background.  This is an opportunity not only to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly expanding practice, but also to work with a private firm with equity partnership potential. There is unlimited professional and financial growth in the position with a consulting firm that has an outstanding reputation and the most stable professional workforce in the country.  They not only pay very well but also offer excellent incentive compensation along with one of the best benefits programs among all national consulting firms including both a DB retirement plan and a lucrative 401 (k) matching program.  As a smaller private firm they have the ability to run their practices with strategic agility by not having a parental power they need to answer to.  This person will be in charge of client consulting projects with a wide variety of employer clients and reporting to the local Health Practice manager.  He/she will have the lead consultant role providing expertise in areas including modeling development & evaluation, rate setting, reserve calculation, plan design analysis, Medicare prescription drug design & pricing and retiree medical valuations.  This person may also have final signing responsibility for retiree medical and other health actuarial reports. You may also work as a technical resource on H&W design, financing and managed care issues.  We are looking for a credentialed actuary (ASA or FSA) with 10 or more years of health actuarial experience in a consulting firm, corporation or insurance company. Expertise in claims and liability aspects of retiree medical valuation techniques, health plans and/or managed care arrangement, rate setting, cost projections, reserve calculation and related issues are all helpful. We prefer someone local to the Baltimore/DC area but are willing to relocate the right person.  (Active as of October 19, 2016) 

 

COMPENSATION: $ 125,000 - 165,000 base + up to 25% bonus

ERISA ATTORNEY OPPORTUNITIES

TAX/BENEFITS ATTORNEY

 

LOCATION:  NEW YORK REGION

 

Small and rapidly growing boutique law firm based in New York has a need for an experienced attorney in one or more of the following: ERISA Title I, Title II tax, corporate law and/or litigation.  This is an opportunity to join an elite group of attorneys that is rapidly bringing in new business and functions, in effect, as their corporate clients’ in house attorneys dealing with a wide variety of issues.   They focus primarily on issues related to compensation, employee benefits and labor issues.  They focus primarily on issues related to compensation, employee benefits and labor issues.   We are looking for someone who has some portable business but does not need to be self-sufficient since the firm has more business than they can now handle.  The lead partner needs to free up more time to develop more new business.  This is an opportunity to help build a practice and gain an equity position in a very profitable small boutique. ERISA TITLE I ATTORNEY

 

LOCATION:   Boston, MA  

 

A prestigious national tax boutique is offering the opportunity for an experienced Title I Attorney to join a thriving practice at the Senior Counsel or Partner level.  The preferred location is Boston, but this person can also work in NY or DC. This is a firm that has doubled in size in the past 8 years, is very profitable and has a national client base and reputation. They have plenty of work so do not require portable business.   We are looking for 10 or more years of experience in private practice, a bank, brokerage firm or other financial services company.  ..  This person would have tremendous support and a client base in need of these types of services:   Advising financial institutions with respect to both investment & retirement related products and services, including asset management firms, registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, banks and trust companies, insurance companies and platform providers.   Advising plan sponsors with regard to all aspects of their compensation and benefit arrangements, including executive compensation and securities laws. All aspects of ERISA Title I investment matters, including prohibited transaction exemptions, trading, custody, registered investment advisers and retirement platforms.   Responsible for overlap between securities law and ERISA. A leading global professional services organization with multiple locations has just created a new opportunity in several of their offices for a senior level/partner level executive compensation specialist.  This is a small and rapidly growing division of a larger firm so the opportunity for professional and financial growth is unlimited.  The firm is in the midst of a major expansion and is hiring senior level and practice leaders in various US locations.  They have an enviable and unique client base which enables their Compensation and Benefits Tax Practices to generate considerable new business within that client base.  We are looking for someone who can lead a team of professionals advising boards of directors and the C-Suite of companies of all sizes on various compensation matters.  Someone with a background in executive compensation design, the design of annual and long-term incentive awards who can take into account the tax, accounting and other regulatory ramifications is ideal.  This is a partner level role with management responsibility.  We prefer ten or more years of experience with a consulting firm background. The compensation, incentives and benefits are excellent and will be based on experience.
